The Mystery of the Night: How God and the Enemy Use Dreams to Shape Your Destiny

Dreams are an important source of messages and answers which God uses to speak into your life! If dreams are an avenue that God uses to speak and to make Himself known to us, then dreams in the night are of prime importance. Dreams are a visitation from God to you during your sleep. This is why we must have great honour for the dreams that God gives us instead of treating them like they are “junk mail” or simply a series of confusing and frustrating thoughts and images you see during your sleep.
Dreams are an ancient form of communication and visitation that God uses throughout the centuries and still uses today in the twenty-first century to both speak and appear to His people! However, because the dream realm is a legal spiritual portal, the enemy also seeks to hijack it. The enemy uses this exact same portal to plant demonic covenants, such as the "Spiritual Spouse." To walk in total victory, we must understand both the divine power of dreams and the warfare that takes place within them.
I. The Reality of Divine Visitation
The Bible explicitly validates that the Lord appears and speaks in dreams. We must stop dismissing them as mere subconscious activity.
1. Face-to-Face in the Night
"In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee." (1 Kings 3:5) We have all heard the story of Solomon, how the Lord had a conversation with him and gave him wisdom, however, in our generation how it took place is rarely emphasized. It took place through an appearance from the Lord in a dream!
2. The Law of Impartation
Whatever is discussed by the Lord with you in a dream is imparted to you, just like it was with Solomon. God gave him a wise and understanding heart in a dream, and when he woke up, he had it! "Behold, I have done according to thy words... And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream" (1 Kings 3:12-15).
3. More Than "Just a Dream"
How many times have you woke up after experiencing an appearance from the Lord in a dream and said, ‘Oh it was just a dream…?’ No, it’s more than a dream! It is an appearance from the Lord, face to face, that will change your life and destiny forever.
II. The World Around You Has Been Shaped By Dreams!
In order for you to have a healthy honour for dreams, you must have knowledge and understanding of how God looks at them. In dreams are the clues, instructions, and wisdom on how to live life and handle situations successfully.
Dreams contain answers from God! Did you know that some of the greatest inventions and breakthroughs in human history came as a result of dreams?
4. Albert Einstein
The groundbreaking theory of relativity (E=mc2), which changed the course of modern physics, was famously given to Albert Einstein in a dream.
5. Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison received the final conceptual invention of the light bulb during his twilight sleep and dream states.
6. Dr. Vivien Thomas
Dr. Vivien Thomas got the complex, life-saving surgical cure for the "blue baby syndrome" in a dream, revolutionizing cardiac surgery.

Christopher Columbus received profound spiritual direction and confirmation to navigate the waters that led to the discovery of America, all in dreams!
III. The Demonic Hijack: Spiritual Spouses
Because the dream realm is such a powerful portal for impartation, the enemy actively seeks to hijack it. As Apostle B. Java profoundly taught, the devil uses sleep to establish illegal covenants.
8. "I Sleep, But My Heart Waketh"
Referencing Song of Solomon 5:2, Apostle Java teaches that while the physical body (the tent) sleeps, the spirit is wide awake. The enemy exploits this state because the spirit realm has no barriers of time or distance.
9. The Genesis 15 Principle
God established His covenant with Abraham when a "deep sleep" fell upon him. Satan mimics this, using the dream state to plant "nuclear bombs" and forge demonic covenants—most notably, the Spiritual Spouse.
10. Intimacy as a Spiritual Covenant
According to the spiritual laws seen in Deuteronomy 22, intimacy equates to a covenant. When a person is attacked in a dream through sexual intimacy, signing divorce papers, or being attacked by snakes and marine spirits (njuzu), the enemy is legally attempting to destroy their physical marriage, finances, and destiny.
11. Manifestations of the Attack
As Apostle Java outlined in his 15 signs, a hijacked dream life results in delayed marriages, unexplained medical issues (fibroids, cysts), extreme poverty (the devourer), and sudden loss of affection for one's actual spouse. The dream was the entry point for the warfare.
